Whether you've got cutting, sawing, sanding, grinding or polishing on the agenda, the Silverstorm 10.8V Oscillating Multi-Tool accomplishes it all.


Featuring a no load speed of up to 18,000rpm, this cordless multi-tool packs the punch to cut and saw into wood and metal with the correct blades, as well as removing paint, varnish, plaster and other materials from your chosen workpiece.


The lightweight, compact design, combined with a variable speed dial, affords the user complete control of the number of revolutions and the level of precision applied to the task. Soft-grip handles allow a secure, comfortable grip while reducing annoying vibrations generated by the oscillating motion and an LED work light allows use in cupboards, under shelves and in other poor light conditions.


An interesting addition to this tool is the intelligent battery charger, which charges all Silverstorm 10.8V batteries efficiently by continuously monitoring the output voltage. It will also cease charging once the battery is full to prevent overload and preserve long-term battery life.


Compatible with a wide range of blades and accessories, such as Silverline 557277 and Silverline 218923. Supplied with a 1.3Ah Li-ion battery, intelligent charger, hex key, 1 x scraper, 4 x sanding sheets (40, 80, 120 & 240 Grit) and a blow-moulded case for easy transportation and storage.

Build quality seems ok but was a bit annoyed that the on/off button doesn''t seem to work right. When the red slider is pushed up into the on position it doesn''t turn the tool on, instead you have to push it up then slide it back a couple of millimetres towards the off position for it to work. Wasn''t impressed with the 4 to 5 hour battery charge time either when other comparable tools have a quick 30min charge time, the charger that came with it also did not light up properly with the LED''s - there are 3 green LED lights under the charger to indicated how much charge is left in the battery. When I bought the item from Screwfix and got it home I placed the battery on charge as only one LED light was showing. After several hours of charging two LED lights showed (everything ok so far) after a few more hours of charging (presuming the battery was fully charged by now) the LED indicator lights showed just 1 LED again. The tool seemed very nippy when the battery was placed in it so I can only assume it was fully charged. Would be nice if the charger indicator showed this though. I bought this item as I have previously bought two 4" Silverline Angle Grinders before and they are still working great a few years down the line but this Multi-tool has put me off slightly as it looks like Silverline are scrimping or trying to save money by using cheaper control buttons/sliders and inferior chargers. The tool itself seems well built and has some decent weight to it, having the feel of a much more expensive similar item. I would consider taking it back to Screwfix and giving Silverline the benefit of the doubt - as this maybe a one with a faulty on/off slider and faulty LED''s on the charger but I have already used it to cut some skirting board and am not sure where I stand with regards to returning it.

I have never used a multi tool before. I am pleased to say I found the Silverstorm not too heavy as I have dexterity problems. I have used it twice and I was pleased with the results and ease of use.

I have bought it hoping to complete a small project of hiding speaker cables in the dry wall. Silverline cordless cutter was working only for a while and it has broke the very same day. When it was working the device was not powerful and even the dry wall was hard for this toy. I replaced it with cheapest corded branded device and you should feel the difference.
