A most useful light weight tool to carry on my walk (in a private wood). Because there is no actual sharpened edge, the slasher can be used either handed and obviously does not require sharpening. The square cut leading edges of the blade are sufficient to cut through young saplings, brambles and some grasses. It is very safe to use as the turned-up cutting section is a good distance from the user. I have two machetes but this is better suited, to clearing paths than they are, with its longer reach.
